Ralston Elementary PTA is seeking candidates for the President and Vice President positions to serve for the 2010-2011 school year. There is no better organization to be involved with than PTA if you are interested in making a difference in your child’s education at Ralston Elementary.
Per our PTA bylaws, nominations for these positions will be taken over the next month, with the election taking place in March. PTA will discuss the positions, including the responsibilities and time commitment, at this month’s PTA meeting on Tuesday, February 23.
We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to get involved by joining us for this meeting and making your voice heard.
Order forms and checks made out to Ralston PTA are due this Wednesday, December 2 by the end of day. Remember this is the ONLY chance to get your gift cards for Christmas presents, birthday presents, shopping, etc.

The Ralston PTA Reflections Committee would like to invite all Reflections participants and their families to attend the Reflections Gallery Opening Reception this Thursday morning, November 12, at 8:00 a.m. in the Ralston front lobby.
Come view our students’ wonderful artwork and enjoy refreshments and the chance for participants to win some great prizes!
PARENTS
Ralston is hosting a parent-only presentation at the PTA meeting on Tuesday, November 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Ralston Library
Mike Harris, a Jefferson County District Attorney Investigator, will give a presentation followed by a Q&A session. Students are NOT allowed at this meeting so that parents can have an open, candid and graphic discussion of what dangers exist for children who go online. Babysitting will be available at the school for any children.
STUDENTS
Ralston is hosting an assembly for the 4th – 6th graders on Friday, November 20, at 10:00 a.m.
Mike Harris will return to share an age-appropriate presentation with Ralston students that discusses the dangers that can exist online. Mike will also answer any student questions following the presentation. Parents are welcome to attend this session also, but it is designed specifically for students.
Jefferson County District Attorney Investigator Mike Harris has been working Internet crimes against children since 1996. He is the director of the Jefferson County Child Sex Offender Internet Investigations (CSOII) Unit. The CSOII Unit protects children from sex offenders through prevention programs and aggressive, pro-active Internet investigations.
